A night at the theatre

On Wednesday, November 28th we went to the Gladstone Theatre in Ottawa to see The Penultimate Problem of Sherlock Holmes. The performance was good and the storyline was original. It was fiction within fiction.

PLOT:
Sherlock Holmes is told during a seance that Sir Arthur Conan Doyle wants to end his existence by not writing about him any more. Mr. Holmes and Dr. Watson cannot believe what is happening to them and need to find a way to convince Sir Arthur that his work must continue.

This play was perfomanced by the Phoenix Players and the money they raised was given to the Ottawa Food Bank to help support their cause. It was called the BUMS IN SEAT, FOOD IN BELLIES CHALLENGE. If Ottawans purchased 1,500 seats over the ten days that they performed, the cast would donate $5,000 to the Food Bank.

On top we see the poster and a scene from the play. The setting was simple, but very nice. The theatre was small and friendly. The audience had an excellent view of the performance.
