On November 11th, 2018 Canadians celebrated Remembrance Day which is the day they remember all the brave men and women who fought in all the different wars Canada was involved in. The main symbol of Remembrance day is the poppy. The idea of the poppy originated in a beautiful poem written by John Mc Crae in 1915 called 'In Flanders Fields'. This poem suggests that poppies were the first flowers to bloom from dead soldiers' graves.

Most of the ceremony revolves around the area where the War Memorial is located near Parliment Hill in downtown Ottawa.
